On this occasion we are going to talk about the lemon diet, one of the most aggressive diets available, but which allows spectacular results to be achieved in a very short time. Let’s see what we can learn from it.
What is the lemon diet?
The lemon diet is one of those diets based on restricting the diet almost exclusively to diuretic foods. In this case, lemon. As you probably already know, diuretic foods are those that allow to eliminate the excess of liquids of the organism.
Consequently, when a diet like this is adopted, what is being done is to empower the organism to eliminate liquids, since we barely acquire new ones, and we only consume something that helps to eliminate them.
That leads to a rapid decrease in body weight … But it has a trick! Once you recover your usual diet, you will gain that weight again, as is normal, because you will receive the excess fluids again, and not eliminate it.
If you add to that the fact that the lemon diet is so restrictive that it is not recommended for more than five days, you find that you have a very short slimming effect.
However, that doesn’t mean it’s a bad diet. It’s simply designed to make you lose weight for a specific day, not in the long run.
However, you have to bear in mind that it is an aggressive and very restrictive diet, so it can be harmful to your health if it is not carried out with care. At the end of this article I give you some tips for practicing it safely.
When should you NOT submit to it?
The lemon diet is not recommended for pregnant women or children, nor is it recommended for people with heart, stomach or intestinal complaints. If you have any other illness, it is recommended that you go to the doctor to ask if you can do it.
Also, you shouldn’t be on the lemon diet if you’ve done it recently. In between, you should always leave at least one month (preferably two) of space, because it’s an aggressive diet.
Finally, if you have any kind of dizziness or feel particularly weak, it is important that you stop the diet and go back to your normal diet. As I mentioned, this is an aggressive diet, and it can be harmful to your health.
