The foods we eat play a huge role in keeping our brain healthy, thereby aiding the brain in improving its mental tasks such as memory and concentration. Examples of fatty fish include salmon, trout and sardine, all of which are good sources of omega-3 fatty acids. 60% of the brain is composed of fat and half of this fat is omega-3. The omega-3 helps the brain to build the brain and nerve cells. These fats play a crucial role in learning and memory. Omega 3 also plays some critical role in the brain, some of which includes and not limited to age-related mental decline and help in battling Alzheimer’s disease.

Similar to dark chocolate, a lot of berries are loaded in flavonoid antioxidants. The presence of this antioxidant makes berries good food for the brain. The antioxidants in the brain help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress. Anthocyanin, caffeic acid, catechin and quercetin are some of the antioxidants in berries.
